The Crémant d’Alsace is a sparkling wine with its own “Appelation d’origine Contrôlée” (AOC). The legislation requires hand picking and whole bunch pressing.

After fermentation and clearing, the fine bubbles are obtained through a second fermentation in bottles in order to carbonate the wine. This procedure will take place over several months.

Before the sparkling wine is finished, the “remuage” or rippling takes place, followed by the “dégorgement” or disgorging in order to remove the lees. The final step called “dosage” involves topping the sparkling wine off with a wine liquor, then sealed with the distinct mushroom-shaped cork held in place with a wire basket.

A multi-vintage blend (Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir) is used for the wine-making of the Crémant d’Alsace.

This wine is crisp, with ripe fruits flavours and toasted notes. The finish has a beautiful length.

An exceptional wine for aperitif; may also be served with fish pâté, vol-au-vent and Chicken fricassee.
